What is Sensational Story Time? It’s a story time built just for you. No sitting still required. Fidget, wiggle, and squirm! Enjoy squishing, stretching, and shaping air dry clay. Enjoy the textures, or create imaginative items. It’s your choice.
Each class will have an engaging story: fantastic fairy tales, meaningful messages, awesome adventures, and more. We’ll use air dry clay because it doesn’t get sticky or flaky. High fun, low mess. Various techniques and tools will be shown but are optional. The focus is on the process, not an end product.
Sensory seekers will love squishing and shaping the playdough or clay. Sensory avoiders can rest assured that air-dry clay is a fantastic alternative to the playdough they are probably used to. It’s less sticky and won’t get flaky with use.
Be sure to check the handout in the welcome post for a gluten-free playdough recipe if you’d rather make than buy.
This interactive class will encourage the development of social skills by creating a safe space for self-expression. Feeling secure and valued are the foundations upon which confidence and independence are built. Learners will have opportunities to practice taking turns, sharing their ideas, and celebrating each others’ progress.
Guided clean up will gradually develop learners’ sense of responsibility and care for their belongings.
I have two versions of this class - Preschool for ages 3-6 and School Age for ages 6-9
What's the difference? Preschool will have shorter stories and less use of tools and techniques.
School Age will have longer stories and more demonstration of tools and techniques.
I am flexible on ages so if you think your learner would fit better in a class outside their age range, just let me know!
What day/time would you like this class to be at? You can email me at kristin@quirk-ed.com or request a time on Outschool.
My "Pay What You Can" Policy applies to any sections with 3 learners or more enrolled.

Quirk Ed uses words like “learner” and “caregiver” because we welcome families of all shapes and sizes. We know not every learner is a son or daughter and not every caregiver is a parent.
